What do you use/like?

In the process of using up lots of Lexol.

Depends on what it's for, but Lexol is a favorite, especially if it's something delicate or old.

Pecard's Eque-Care leather dressing. It has replaced Farnam Leather New, which I used for years.

Lexol has a product called Lexol NF. Better than straight Lexol. Isn't sticky and won't turn light saddles or rough outs dark. I had order two gallons, now I find it at Tractor Supply. All I use now on all tack, including pack outfits

I clean my leather with Murphy's Oil Soap in water - in the shade, never the sun, then condition it with lexol, but I think you could probably use a vegetable oil / oil if you wanted.

Was turned on to this several years ago by a top saddle maker for oiling(Something I do only once a year) and it helps to be able to set your gear out in the sun between coats(3)'
Between oiling, as I posted earlier, I really like Skidmores or Ray Holes Saddle Butter.

Fixed it. Damn typing (20 + years) Good thing we have police on this site to catch such things

I have always worried about different oils like olive, vegetable, etc and having tack out when hunting if the rodents would be more likely to chew o nit. Don't know though.
