First off, I don't see me putting any more than 50 miles a year on anything. Just around the gunclub, trails and occasional mud holes I can't avoid.

I'm close on pulling the trigger on a Ranger 570 eps model, I like the power steering feature and the benchseat. Just a matter of hooking up the trailer to get it. Seems review are mixed on the rangers.

The other is the pioneer 700, probably the flip seat model 700-4. While I haven't priced these yet, I pretty sure the 700-4 will be about a grand to 1500 more than the 570 eps.

I'm not seeing any kind of rebates or incentives on either. Is there a better time of year to purchase these things. Only problem with waiting, is that I've already been toying with it for a year or so, I'd like to go ahead and start enjoying one with the family.

Any info would be appreciated.
We have 2 Pioneer 700’s in camp, one of which belonged to me. I sold it to a fellow member when I upgraded to a Pioneer 1000.Both of the 700’s are the 3 seaters. I can tell you without reservation that the Pioneer is more capable in muddy conditions, has better ground clearance, and the mechanically selected 4WD and diff lock will be more reliable than the Polaris system of switches and servos. The Rangers tend to be pot luck. Some of them give good service, others not so much. Have seem some really weird stuff break on the 570’s in camp. Rear sway bar snapped, front diff pinion housing cracked (Plastic housing if you can believe it), wheel bearing failures, front cv joints breaking.

The Hondas on the other hand, just seem to keep going without issues. Your experience may be different, but I’ve been around Rangers long enough to have made Honda my choice. I’ve had all three offerings from Honda, and all three are alive and well in our camp. The original Big Red I bought is still in service in our camp, is used hard, and driven by a few different drivers, including the two sons of the member that owns it. They’ve managed to bend a front control arm, and pop a tire off the bead, but that’s it. Mechanically it’s still good to go.
Great post and information, badger. I have been seriously thinking about a Honda Pioneer 1000 UTV. Speed is not that important to me, because mine would be used to work hard, hauling and towing stuff in mountainous terrain, with some hunting duties thrown in there also.
After sleeping on it, I think I'm gonna hold out on a 700-4 or 700-4 deluxe, I think there maybe some deals on the 2018 models out there. I don't know how usable the flip seats are but for my 7 and 10yo they maybe fine for the next few years.
You'll be happy you chose the Pioneer, having owned several of their atv's over the years I'd have no problem buying a Pioneer.

Look at Southern Powersports in Chattanooga. I shopped pretty hard for my 1000 and they had the best pricing.
I was able to get a good deal locally on one yesterday. Honda had the 2018 700-4 deluxe marked down 2100 bucks, so I thought that was a no brainer, problem was...only one they could find somewhat close was orange and would have to go get it. They had a new 2019 in diver blue on the lot that they got me in for 500 more than the 2018 sale price. I had done a little homework the day before on the 2019 and this place was almost 2 grand cheaper than what I was getting quoted. It was a quick flip, they just got the thing in saturday and they knew I was ready to buy. I would have loved to have gone with the 1000-5 but I was already a little above what I had in mind with the 700-4 deluxe. Anyway, I'll pick it up today. I imagine my 7 and 10 year olds will be excited. The Diver Blue color is growing on me, can always get it wrapped camo or something later.

I have a 700, it’s great!
Here it is. Got a couple weeks off coming up, hope to get some hours on it
