Well one of the last 2 rifles on my bucket lest is now mine. After 40 years I finally got a 141 in 35 Remington. I have dies bullets and the rifle, but I am waiting on brass. I hope to kill some deer and/or antelope with it in a few months.

My only other rifle to get is a Ruger M96 lever action in 44 mag, but I may never get it. Every one I ever saw was offered at a time I had no money, and every time I had some extra money I never saw on for sale.
My I don't need any of these bucket list gins. I just like them.

i have my Dads Model 14 with 2.5x Lyman Alaskan.
My dad always said to work the action like your going to tear it in two.

I have a Remington Model 141 in 35 Remington. It is a slick handling rifle. You're going to love yours.

Always had a thing for the M14R and M141R carbines. Picked up a 32 Rem. 141 carbine a couple years ago. Neat guns.

I've owned two of them in 25 Remington and one in 30 Rem. They were neat guns but the 25s were sold to collectors and the 30 ended up with a friend. I've shot 14s and 141s in 35 Rem but I prefer the smaller chamberings.

I've never had to be more vigorous than with any other pump gun but that may have been due to previous owners care. I'll pick up another if I find one in 32 Rem.

I am looking forward to the UPS truck this week. He's bringing the brass.

I have killed 7 deer with a marlin 336 rifle I used to have . It had a 24 inch barrel, half mag, pistol grip and a Williams 5D peep sight. It was quite accurate. I really liked it a lot, but when it was tome to make a move I had to sell some guns to get moving money and that one went to a new owner. I did regret selling it. O used 220 grain Speer flat points in that rifle for all the kills I made ,and also one kill was made by a friend when he borrowed it to hunt a bear. So I have some experience with the shell. I have about 240 Remington 200 grain round nose bullets now. The ole ones with the scalloped lead tips. I am going to zero the Remington with those. I never killed any game with those bullets from my old 336, but I did when I sized them down to .356" and loaded them in a 9X56 Mannlicher I used to own. Out of the old Mannlicher–Schönauer I could shoot them at about 2450 FPS and they killed very well, but I never shot anything larger then a good size mule deer buck with one of the Remington bullets. Large holes and full penetration was what I got on the deer I killed so I have nothing bad to say about them. The 35 Remington only fires them at 2000 to maybe 2100, but I still expect good results.

I have kept eyes open for a long Marlin 36 or 336, or a 141 Remington now for about 30 years now and never found one I could afford------- until 2 weeks ago.

On my Marlin I used 4064 and 3031 powders with the Speer 220s so I think I'll start with one of those powders for the Remington also, and see how well it does. It has a very old Pacific peep sight on it and I will zero for either 100 or maybe 150 yard. Hopefully I can make meat with it in September and October of this year. I will carry it for deer and antelope and see how I do.

One is there right now. It's pricey at $820 with 6 days left, but being that there's 12 bids on it I have to believe that the going rate for them is high. It is available though, regardless.

you'll like it. very slick. only problem is almost all of them deform the cartridge neck when ejecting. i have a dozen or more of various flavors and every one does that.

I had a 141 in 35 rem with a 2.5x scope. One of the ones I wish I didn’t sell. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I did.

I've owned a few Remington 14s and 141s, they were quite common in the used gun racks all over New England when I was a kid. I still have a 141 in 35 REM, #302xx, that I bought in 2003 and may get around to shooting some day.

Neat rifles, but I never understood why Remington decided to add 2" to the barrel of a woods rifle when they updated them from the 14 to the 141. For some reason, the 32s and 35s were a lot more common than the 25s and 30s in the gun shops that frequented as a kid.

A kid I grew up with's dad had a model 14 in 30 Remington with factory iron sights, no scope. They had cattle on Matagorda Island and they'd drive around in an old WWII jeep checking cows and shooting deer and hogs and an occasional wild sheep. Those were the good ol' days.

I have a 141 in 30 Remington. Unfortunately someone mounted a scope on it. It works well. I had one in 35 Remington too. It also worked well. I have not had any trouble with either as far as function.

Really like the older Remington pump series - have at least one from the 12, 14, 14 1/2, 25 and 141 lines all well made and accurate!

I have a model 14 in 30 rem that I was lucky enough to get a reddington peep that mounted to the 2 drilled and tapped holes put there for just such a sight. It makes meat just fine. They carry and balance like a fine shotgun.

I am hoping to load some ammo today for the old gun. I just got some new brass from Graf and Sons. I have some old 200 grain Remington Core-Lokt bullets and I think I'll use 4064 powder and see how well it dose.

What is a "reddington peep"?

The only peep sights that I recall seeing for the Remington 14/141 series rifles were made by Lyman and Marble's.

Can you post a picture of it?
