Hey,
Has anyone rebarreled a Kimber Montana 300wm or 338wm to 375 ruger. Is there enough meat on the barrel to do so? If not I’ll be looking for a talkeetna.

If you are rebarreling you just install the thickness of barrel you need

Looking at duping factory contour to the end of the stock does anyone have one handy the could measure at that area?

Might be able to rebore it. I'd call JES. His fee Is less than most barrel blanks. Unless you really want a new barrel. Or don't have the meat for a 375.

My Kimber was a 308 so I don't think the measurements will be the same. It became a 358 without issue. .375" would probably be too much though.

300 wsm (8400 Montana) is 0.69 where it exits the stock tapering to 0.56 at the muzzle.
375 h&h (Talkeetna) is 0.81 where it exits the stock tapering to 0.70 at the muzzle. Both of those are 24” tubes.
I don’t have a 300WM or 338 WM to measure but I suspect that despite being 26” they are very similar to the wsm as they accept the same 0.56 factory muzzle brake kimber sells.

Thanks AK. Do they both have the same stock or is the talkeetna larger?

The Talkeetna is larger. I can grab a measurement tonight but I would say the forend is a 1/4 to 1/3 of an inch wider.

Talkeetna forend width measures 1.60” and the 8400 is 1.34”
