This is perhaps the best "utility" rifle I have ever owned. Clean, no "tricked out".
CZ 527 M1 American with Leupold 2-7 x scope.
Single-set trigger
A favorite of mine for certain

Yeah, For the money its hard to beat a CZ 527M1, I have owned 2 and they were both very good shooters. I would buy another one if I were in the market......Hb

I admire the quality and think all those nifty machined contours are very cool. However, the combination of CRF and a DM that results in you not being able to drop one in the top and close the bolt is a major PITA at the range and in the field. If they would offer a regular internal box with a hinged floorplate, it would be awesome. A wood-stocked M1 would be nice too. There's a place or two that will trim the bottom metal and mag on standards for about $100. CZ should take the hint.

When I had mine, I invested in an Original Bob's Sled loading block, which took care of the problem at the range. Calhoun sells a similar item.

I've got an older .223 527 American with the 12 twist barrel. I converted it to a wood stocked M1 configuration by getting the parts from the CZUSA Webstore. They sell the M1 trigger guard/mag release etc. I also got the upgraded thinner bolt handle so the scope can be mounted lower. I used Warne rings in medium for the CZ 16mm dovetail. The M1 wood stock that I was sent is very nice and has quite a bit of figure in it. I hit the "wood lottery" on that one. It shoots the Sierra 55gr Gamekings and the Hornady 53gr v-max very well over a charge of Varget.

I have one that was my primary coyote rifle for years. Upgraded the bolt handle and rings. Shoots 40 grain vmax factory ammo really well. I changed coyote rifles and am kind of up in the air about what to do with the cz

I love the mini action concept. I had an older one with the 1:12 twist. It was the first rifle I owned that would put about any load at or under an inch. I killed a pile of coyotes with it and a few deer, dad has it now. I’m moving toward a Howa Mini in 224 Grendel as a replacement.

Check out their bottom metal. Works perfectly, nicely made. Waiting to see the Mini stock they're working on. If I were building, I'd consider them too.

I also own a 527 M1, .223. Very accurate sub-MOA shooter with factory ammo and 40 gr. V-Max, as well as Federal 62 gr. Fusion ammo.
I mounted mine with a Burris 4.5-14x scope in factory rings, and replaced action and ring screws with allen-heads. Great rifle!

i've got a cz 527 in 223 with the full length stock and it's the bomb!

I have several 527's, probably my favorite is a 222 because they don't make it anymore and is my most accurate factory rifle. people like pap's complain about the CRF, the clips and the safety.............adapt learn how to shoot it and they are awesome !!!!!!!

I'm good thanks, with my Mini, which besides being more convenient to use is also outshooting the 527 I had. I do miss the classic looks of the CZ somewhat, but I'll get over it. Got other pretty ones on hand.

Well you can call me a copycat. I had an extra leupold 2x7 and now it's on my 527! Nice fit!

I've got one of the older 527's in 223. 1-12 barrel and Leupold 2-7. I'm using a set of Tikka rings, knock out the pin and they fit the CZ bases perfect. The original bolt just clears the scope. I was unable to get a decent trigger pull with the two stage trigger on this one and ended up with a very clean 2.5 lb single stage. As others mentioned mine really likes the 40 gr V-Max, works well with 27 gr (max book load). of Ramshot X-terminator.

I got a James Calhoon single shot adapter for it and use it as a single shot as often as with the magazine. I hesitated on that at first as it's not cheap at $60 but don't regret it now. It's a quality piece of machined steel that fits and works perfect.

The one that got away was the .221 FB. Really wanted one, but they came out at a time when my fun money was at a minimum. I own them in .223, 6.5 Grendel, 7.62x39 and .22 Hornet. Great shooters all! Would still love to have the .221 FB.

Got my eyes on that. Rifle is in hand with the DIP bottom. Some don’t like the dbm but I prefer it most of the time.
