Interesting. I can say I never forgot some of those lessons from the movie. I hope those who have seen it haven't either. It won't be Russia who invades, it will be China now. It started when they began buying up every piece of America they could. The rich, powerful and politically connected to socialism have seen to that. Mr. Trump has temporarily put a stop to it. My bet is they will be back.

That is not the same 'stock' as I had on my 77 UL and it was 308 as well.

Mine had 20" bll. and BLACK fore end tip.

I liked and have seen the movie a few Xs over the years.

I don't own a UL but will travel to hunt deer in Nov and will do so with a borrowed Ruger 77 tanger UL 308, with the black fore end.

I have always thought Jed's rifle looked like it was topped with a Japanese Bushnell Banner 2.5X or 1.5-4.5X.

I thought a weaver 1-4. Maybe lupy 1-4...

Jed (Patrick Swayze) picks up a Ruger Model 77 Ultralight bolt action rifle from Mr. Morris' store at the beginning of the film. He uses it as a sniper rifle during some of the ambushes.

The Soviet T-72 mockups for that movie were so accurate, the CIA showed up on the set to ask the producers where they got them.

The Colorado first version was so much better than the more recent Spokane version. The Chinese complained about the more recent one so they had to go back and edit everything to make it all North Korea.


The first one came out when I was probably in Jr high and really influenced myself and my friends. We thought there was a good chance a war with Russia could happen back then.
