Is it ok to dry fire a Rem 700 SPS with the Pro “adjustable” trigger?
I’ve been using once fired cases and I’m getting readings from my Lyman trigger pull gauge all over the place with a 1 lb variant. I’ve noticed that with some cases it’s harder to close the bolt. Would that affect the trigger pull?

The case in the chamber has no effect on the trigger pull.

Make sure your are putting the gauge on the same spot of the trigger each time and that you are pulling directly back each time. Consistency is key.

And, yes, you can dry fire that 700 as many times as you want to. The only modern firearm that shouldn't be dry fired is a rimfire.

Cases in the chamber wont affect the trigger pull, and its OK to dry fire a 700...that said, the Pro trigger is a piece of schitt on its best day, and you'll be lucky to dry fire a few times before it breaks. And yeah, pull weight will be all over the map. I had one ( "had" is the operative word...) that magically went from #4 to #16 overnight, all by itself!

Had another that broke at the screw before it was ever fired...

Had two more than never got the chance...I removed them before I took the gun out.

The two X Mark Pro "adjustable" triggers I've had/have don't adjust. No matter how far I screwed that little set screw in or out. Hysterical.
But they were both at 4.5 lbs, and one was fairly crisp. But yeah, both were replaced before I ever shot the rifles........
