Anyone recognize what this fits ? The screw holes match a Rem 700 SA. But the bottom metal inlet is different.

I'm going to throw out a guess..........Howa, maybe. I've got a Howa stock somewhere, and will check it.

Whatever it is the front screw goes into the recoil lug like a Mauser and it has a single column magazine or floor plate. Definitely not a 700. 788 maybe? I know they had a single column box magazine.

Looks to me like it might be for a rifle with an external magazine.

By comparison, this is a Wby one for one with a floor plate:

Correct . The recoil lug is threaded for the front screw. It looks like it has a Remington style safety also .

I have a win mod 54. Could be that also.

Remington 788

It's not a 788, There's a long recess on the port side for a bolt release on the stock in question and 788's also have a sandwiched recoil lug, in fact, throw out anything with a sandwich lug. The recoil lug has to be fairly large and accept the front action screw.

It's not a Win 54, the screw-hole spacing approximates a 700 SA.

Mini-Mauser/Rem 799?? The MM's hole spacing is ~6 3/8".

If it's for a Mini-Mauser/Rem 799 and you're going to sell it I'd be interested.

Not a Howa. I checked mine.

It’s quite a bit shorter than a factory Remington 700 stock.

Screw spacing is 6 5/8”

Overall length is right at 28 1/2 “

Essentially the same rifle as the mini-Mauser I suggested above. But, upon looking at my mini-Mauser, I don't believe the tang would match up properly.

The Cooper is the best guess so far. The stock looks like a B&C Medalist and I think that's what the Coopers come w/from the factory. Can anyone confirm that the front action screw spins into the recoil lug of a Cooper or if the Cooper recoil lug is sandwiched between the bbl and action?

They make stocks for non Coopers also

I think you’re right it’s for a Cooper rifle . I see a model 57 has the type of bottom metal that looks like it would fit this stock. Maybe a 57 heavy barrel . The barrel channel is 7/8” at the very front and pretty uniform the whole way back to receiver .

Can someone with a Cooper rimfire measure their action screw spacing? thanks
