Buying a Kimber Hunter stock from a fellow Campfire member that was already Hydro Dipped, sparked my interest in having my other 84M stock camo dipped as well......soooo, off it went to Stealth Hydrographics in Kalispell, MT. I asked for Kuiu Verde and I think it came out great!

Here's the two dipped stocks, side by side. The 7-08 is currently housed in the Open Country stock, but will soon be transferred to the Kuiu Verde. My favorite is my 6.5 CM and it's going into the Open Country....just cuz.

You can take the silicon out of the butt of the hunter stock and it will weigh the same as your open country.
Do the two stocks feel the same?
Did you have to remove the recoil pad for the dip or do they just cover it?
Very nice! What was the turn around time?
The stock that was dipped in "Open Country" is a standard Hunter stock.....it has the silicon in the butt and I'm fine with that.

It was done by a company that doesn't work with individuals and that camo style is proprietary, so it isn't possible to replicate, to my knowledge.

It also has a "Soft Touch" coating on it that makes it feel softer and warmer than the Verde dipped stock. So, no... they don't feel exactly the same.

I don't know if they removed the recoil pad prior to dipping or if they just taped it off. They can answer that question for you however.

Turn around was basically one month. They didn't have the Kuiu Verde in stock and it took some time to receive it from their supplier. That was really a non-issue for me as I had stocks for both rifles still, so I was functionally all set.

Cost was $125. Contact is Christy at 406-260-7519. She is very helpful.
That's great information. I hope to order a NULA soon and don't like any of the paint jobs on the website. This looks like a good option.

Had the film product been on hand, it would have only been a week or two max.
The lag time was due to getting the film - and I assured them that I wasn't in a big hurry. So there's that...They have a lot of film choices on hand. The Kimber stocks are perfect for this application.

Another view.

Looks good BT, just got mine done as well. Did they spray any kind of clear coat over it?

Yes. I don't recall if Christy said it was a clear coat or a Ceracoat of some sort. But she did state that they hit it with something to help it endure.

I'll be sending in my RAR .223 stock in the near future.
