Not to 35 Whelen, but 9.3x62. Shoots well.

FWIW, I had JES mark the caliber on the underside of the barrel. Later I milled out the factory caliber marking and had the milled out area engraved with the new caliber.
Yes. It turned out well but did not like any 200 grain bullets. It loved the Remington 250's though. It was a Winchester 670 and I went with 3 groove rifling

I had a Remington 700 re-barreled with a Douglas air gauged premium barrel in 30-06 caliber. It shot like crap. Finally, I gave up on it and sent it to JES
for a rebore. The new caliber was 35 Whelen. It would shoot 1 1/2 or smaller groups at 100 yards with anything I ever tried in it.

My guess is the Douglas barrel came out of the factory faulty in some way. JES rebore cleaned it up and made a useful rifle out of it.
My Remington 700 30-06 to 338-06 JES rebore shoot awesome.

I've often been interested in it, and almost done it a time or two. I usually just wind up ordering a new barrel. With availability of Remage barrels and since I have the tools, I doubt I'd rebore a M700 when I can install a new barrel myself.
