Looking for suggestions for a good dependable drop in trigger for a Remington model 700 , what do you guys with personal experience recommend ?

For big game hunting rifles, it use to be Timney. Now, Trigger Tech seem to be all the rage!

Another vote for triggertech, my only beef with them is on some the safety is a little too easy to move from safe to off safe.

+11. Got a couple, little if any creep and overtravel. Can usually find them on sale around certain holidays. July 4th sale had them around$100.

Having both I’ll buy triggertech for precision. The only tinmey I have is for a 375hh. I like the wider shoe for some reason on a big bore.

Funny stuff. The trigger tech I had quit working after the 30th trigger pull. Then they had the whole recall issue when they admitted that their triggers quit resetting the sear. Pretty much a worse trigger than a factory Remington. Using Timney Hit these days with good success.

I was early in the recall and they were a pain in the ass to work with. There won't be another Trigger Tech on one of my rifles. How they can have a worse trigger than a factory Rem 700 and have so many fans is beyond me. But it'll be Timneys or Ernie's springs in factory 700 triggers for me from now on. TT can kiss my ass.

The timney HIT seems very nice. I have one but haven't shot it much yet.

I have two Trigger Techs and like them very much. I have had no problems with them. I got the first one in 2018, installed the second one a week or so ago. I have used Timney and Rifle Basix with complete satisfaction as well. The sale on Trigger Tech triggers at $105 was a great deal. The price was so good that I bought two. My Trigger Tech triggers are on Bergara rifles. They are Remington clones.

Unless you were to get a lemon from any specific manufacturer, which is always possible, a Jewell, Trigger Tech or Timney will all not only suffice but will be a significant improvement. I don't think you would regret any of those. I have used all three and I guess I would say that I can't tell the difference. Maybe I'm not good enough or sensitive enough to tell the difference.

For hunting, I have Rifle Basix, Timney, and Trigger Tech. All are good and have served me well.
I had a Jewell trigger but did not like the thin blade on a hunting rifle.

Timney is a few miles down the road, every rifle I own that doesn't come with an AccuTrigger gets a Timney. Great product, awesome employees

I have a few Timneys . Love them ,but will give trigger tech a try next time just for kicks.

I have some TT and Timney. Both good, I prefer the former.

FYI, TT has replied they have plans to build for other models in the future but no dates at this time.

I had a flawless job done on the factory Walker but this site scared me off it after years of great use. I replaced with a Trigger Tech. Had to cut a tiny bit of wood out of the way. Not sure I like it any better but ... only gripe for me is that I wish the safety felt a little more positive. It feels like you could too easily take if Safe without knowing it. Rifle will end up going to my son so I wanted it as safe as possible.

I've used plenty of Timneys (510 and CE), TT, Jewel, Shilen, etc., and my preference is the TT Special. I had one issue with sear engagement that ended up being caused by incorrect bolt timing on a M700, and TT worked with me and went way above and beyond to help me get the issue resolved, including custom making a trigger with altered sear engagement (free of charge) to keep me going until I could get the bolt timing fixed.

Both my competition rifles have TT Specials, and both have thousands of rounds on them with nary a hiccup nor a cleaning.

I have RIFLE BASIX & TIMNEY triggers on a few of my Rem 700's and they work just fine.

I love the Walker trigger and that's what i have in all my Remington's with the exception of a Remington LTR and it came with a 40X in it. I'm 60yrs old and have used the Walker trigger for over 40yrs with zero issues. Regardless to what i've read and what NBC says i've never had one to accidentally fire unless i pulled the trigger. I'm not saying it hasn't happened but fortunately it hasn't ever happened to me. I'll keep my Walker triggers, in my opinion it's an excellent trigger when tuned and adjusted right, but you know what they say about opinions .... everybody has one .

On a side note, my brother replaced the Xmark trigger in his Remington with a Timney and really likes that one.

I put a trigger tech special in my 700. They were running a Black Friday deal for 20% off I think it was. I have zero complaints so far. Very smooth trigger. Optics planet had the primary model on sale for $99 and after the email list 10% off I got 2 of them shipped to the house for $180. Sounds like my brothers plan on taking those off my hands now.

I the wold Walker if worked on by a good gunsmith. Timney, Shilen, Kepplinger Single Set, Jewell, TT Special. What I like about the TT is I can easily adjust pull in the field if my old hands get stiff with cold, depends on the hunt. I also like the fact it will work when "full of gunk". Example, I love the older Shilen, but one time it would not budge. Turns out it a "sagebrush leaf flake" tie it up! So, out here I've had more of an issue with dust/debris than rain/snow/freezing/rust in them. So, for me, it was a big selling point. Good luck to you Pard.
