Looking at these in 350 Legend for local deer hunting. State is getting ready to approve straight case rifle cartridges so I’ll finally get to use something center fire. Anyone used either of these 2 rifles? Chambering isn’t important as I’m more interested in the overal quality and accuracy they offer.

I’m going to get some popcorn whistle

Save some for me😎
But as I told you earlier, my choices are limited!
XPR is underrated for the price. (At least it was when you could snag one for $380-$400 on sale.) Essentially M70 barrel and trigger minus the other finishes. Hands down better quality than Ruger's cheapest and if you really want some popcorn material, I would've rather had the XPR than the plastic ADLs put out right before bankruptcy... the ones that rusted just from me looking at them in the case... 😇😂
I’m usually not one for cheaper rifles but I bought an xpr last year in 350 legend for an Ohio hunt and for the money its a decent rifle. It feeds and shot very well for a rifle of any price without modifications. I put some Talley LWs and a vx3i 2.5-8 on it and its a great lighter weight set up for my walk in hunt in Southern Ohio.
I looked at a lot of 350 Legends and it did come down between the two you mention.

Any particular thing about the XPR that made you pick it over the CVA?

For myself , I had the opportunity to hold my cousins XPR the year previous so I was familiar with it. I could not find a cascade locally to hold. If I couldn't have found a XPR I probably would have ordered the cascade. What I really wanted was a Kimber Montana or a model 7 rebored for 350 legend. But for only four days hunting a year in ohio and after holding the xpr I figured it was good enough. I got other rifles I use for the rest of my hunting.

I have 3 Cascades (450 BM, 350 Legend and 308) and there isn’t anything about them I don’t like. I have zero experience with an XPR so I can’t compare them.
does the CVA have long and short actions or only longs ?

From what I've witnessed, almost all of the 350 Legend offerings shoot great. The Ruger American Ranch Rifle, the Mossberg, the Savage Axis, the Winchester XPR, and my Bear Creek AR-15. My friends XPR shoots MOA or less with 150 grain Winchester Deer Season XP. I don't think you could go wrong with eother if the rifles you mentioned.

Thanks for all the responses! Ended up buying a Cascade after checking one over. The XPR was nice too but the CVA had a couple features that swung the pendulum it’s way, and the store had a sale going that made the price on it too good to pass up.

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. How much did you pay?
Posted By: John55 Re: Win. XPR vs CVA Cascade - 04/17/22
$599

You'll be happy.
I picked up a RAR because the price was too good to turn up, and I like the !at comparability with the AR I built.

Other guys I hunt OH with have the Winchester and the Cascade. I'd grab a cascade if i was looking to get another.
