Used Barrett Fieldcraft and special Whittiker’s run of Ruger Americans.

Tikka did a run of 1/8".

We commissioned those too, then they made it a standard offering. We have them on the shelf.

Setterman: I bought a "fast twist" (unknowingly!) Remington 700 VTR in caliber 22-250 Remington a few years ago - thankfully it shoots the smaller, frangible, Varmint type bullets real well though.
I think it has a 1 in 9" twist rate (IIRC).
It is a cool gun - I think.
Of course Remington Arms Corporation is "kaput" these days so you will have to look for one of these on the used gun markets.
Good luck in your quest.

VarmintGal's Imagination and Pretend, are yet again taking her to places that don't exist...the "lucky" kchunt. Hint. Congratulations?!?

In fairness however,do NOT slight how "REAL" said delusions are to her. Hint. Fhuqking LAUGHING!

Teeker don't get a whole lot right, but the 8" RPM '250's connect dots, whether in OEM guise or punched Speedmire. Hint.

They'll Smooch and pinwheel 88's,which is a .545 BC and crushes their HILARIOUS 10" RPM 243 Win offerings. Hint.

Easily the most bang for the buck and if they're on Whittaker's shelf, you are fhuqking nuts not to be making those phones ring. Hint.

Just sayin'..................

Thanks All. Smoker expect a call in the next day or two. Stick thanks for the explanation of the 22-250 v the .243

Bullets matter wayyyy more than headstamps and the "itty bitty" 22-250 in 8" RPM,will simply support a vastly superior bullet, over a 10" 243 Win. None of which is subjective. Hint.

While I'd prefer a 7" RPM 223 Rem were it offered(and Teeker REALLY fhuqks up their non-CTR 223 mags)...the 8" Teeker '250 is a NASTY Bitch and rather sound in issued guise. Hint.

Just sayin'.............

I saw one just the other day and damned near bought it. First one I've seen in a long time though..
Posted By: shortactionsmoker Re: 22-250 - 05/27/22
Tikka didn't ship 22-250's (or even 223's) for quite a while. Shipments landed not long ago and I expect inventories to deplete soon. Hopefully shipping will increase over the next few months.

And Ruger should have standardized the twist in the American too.
Posted By: Big Stick Re: 22-250 - 05/27/22
If only for conversation,a 14" RPM 22-250 will only stabilize (2) of these .224" projectiles and it ain't the one on far right. Hint.(grin)

Flipside being, the 8" version of same will do them all, save the one furthest to the right. Mechanics matter. Hint.................

I've got an 8 twist Ruger , shoots 88's good .. Sierra says their 90's need faster but I'm gonna try and see ... Then there is 95's .. I have my doubt on that ..
Posted By: Big Stick Re: 22-250 - 05/27/22
Stability is a function of length,NOT weight and a combo of lineal velocity and RPM,which is why 88's shine in said platform and not so in a 8" 223. Hint.

The 88 ELD is longer than the Sugar 90 grainer,by .070" and of course has a better BC. The 95 grain Sugar is .070" longer than the 88. Which makes the 88 VERY tough to whoop, when weighing precision, consistency, logistics, terminal effects, flight characteristics and even cost. The 90 Sugar is several steps backwards,in all of those things. Hint................

*sigh*

The .223 was 1:9.
The .22-250 was 1:14.

VarmintGal is simply a Lying Piece Of Clueless Fhuqking Schit and that on her BEST day. Hint.

It's only fhuqking HILARIOUS,because it is "real" to her. Hint.

“Product Code 101-84597
Tikka's T3x Lite combines high performance with lightweight ease. The T3x receiver introduces a widened angular ejection port making it easier to feed one cartridge at a time, and extra screw placements on top of the receiver to robustly attach a Picatinny rail. The Lite models are equipped with the T3x synthetic stock with modular pistol grip and forend capabilities. It comes with the classic low-angled grip. This 22-250 Remington model has a blued barrel with a 1:8" rate of twist.”

I had one of the SS T3X's 8" 22-250's when Whitakers did the original order of them. Great gun, shot 40 BT's, 75 ELD, 75 Swifts and about anything I cared to try real darned well.

If you wanted an accurate 22-250 the price on them is about as good as it gets.

Anyone know what the going rate is on one? The one I saw the other day was $750 out the door.

I sold mine for 750 plus 500 bucks for the McMillan that was on it. They gladly paid for it.

I see the blued ones are around 650 on SAS's site.

Thanks buddy. $650 sounds like a great deal. With shipping costs these days, the $750 locally doesn't sound too bad. You did well on yours. I liked that mcmillan, but get along well enough with the cheap plastic stock they come with.

The CTR is great for me. The others just never worked or felt great. Lotsa options though.

I agree. I love the CTR's. The reason I have 2 of them. As I was shooting my new Tikka the other day I noticed the grip was not 100% the way I like them, but it has a B&C on it. Looks great, but not like my CTR's, where I just fall into them and am 100% comfortable. Now, a 22-250 CTR with a fast twist? I could do one of those.. I'd throw away all of my light bullets I use in my varmint rifle and maybe even sell a few slow twist 22-250's. SAS, are you listening? That would be a good request!!!

They need to make a 22 Creedmore already in a CTR... but a 250 isn't far from a reamer punch away either..

I don't look for manufacturers for supplying anything non standard that I might want to get..

I've got a fast twist ( 1 in 7 ) stainless barrel on a Ruger 77 Mk 2, heavy magnum contour profile, 24 inch length...

just pulled the 243 barrel off of it... so I've got the longer magazine... and put this barrel on it, which was previously ordered chambered in 223...

but pulled it when I sold the 223 to a friend gunsmith who wanted it real bad...and had it rechambered to 22.250 for $75.00....

you got an action? then just order a custom barrel... and you can get pretty much whatever ya want...

will mine reach out there? with 68 to 75 gr Hornady BTHPs, no problem what so ever...

Better yet, you should be able to run 90's with that set up..
