Been looking at these a bit. Not familiar with them, but can be had for 2600-2700 money wise. Thoughts?
Lotsa rifle for the money. I've handled a couple. Nice, light and well built. IIRC, the Elevation uses a Zermatt/Bighorn Origin action. Having owned a Bighorn Origin action, I can say that it is a solid action, and worth every penny. On the other hand, I wasn't enamored with the 'limited' ejection/loading port.
That’s a rifle that I’ve been on the fence about for a year or so. The .308 Win model with 20” or 21” barrel seems like it would make a great tree stand and box blind rifle for deer hunting with a suppressor.

I’ve read a lot of good things about the Proof and Bighorn but have never seen a Proof Elevation in person and hate to spend that much without actually handling one.
Has anyone had experience with the Proof Research Elevation in 300 Win Mag?
I own a couple of them. They’re an incredible value, even at that price. Just price out what it would take to build the same rifle from scratch and you’re money ahead with their rifle. And they shoot. And I mean really shoot. I’ve got 4 and all seriously under 1/2” for 5 shot groups. A couple push quarte minute.

I do have a 300. What’s your question?
I have one chambered in 308 Win...I have no complaints, it works and shoots well but I like My Christensen FFT .308 win better, they both shoot and function equally well but I like the ergo's of the FFT stock on the Ridgeline better...YMMV....Hb
So John, Thank you for your response. What does it like for handloads or factory ammo? What type of brake or suppressor do you run on it? What type of recoil does it have? Do you hunt it off of a tripod or bipod? Would it be a great backpacking rifle? Do you have a NF SHV F1 on it. What rings do you have on it?
I have a SHV 4-14 F2 on it. I much prefer a second focal plain for hunting rifles. I'm using the Nightforce Extreme Lightweight rings. Best ring set I've ever used. I used to love the Leupold MK-4 rings, but I like these even better.

The two loads I have done well with are H4831 & 180 Accubonds, and H1000 & 190 VLD’s.

I’m a bipod shooter for sure. You can easily backpack this rifle. I think it’s great for that application.

I run it with a DeadAir Nomad Ti. Feels about like a 270 or less.
