Just looked at the Tikki website and they are listing the twist for their 243's at 1:8 vice the normal 1:10 they usually use. Can anybody confirm this is correct or possibly an typo ? Ben
That would be a welcome update, if true.
Don't see a 243 in stainless on Tikka's website. I do see a blued model in 243 with 1:8 twist.
Just looked myself and it looks like anyplace there is a 243, they are 1-8, glad they are updating their stuff some.
That was a good move. Hopefully they will use the +p magazine like they give the 6.5 creedmoor too.
Just checked with Beretta USA and apparently the website is wrong and they intend to change the twist rate back to 1:10 for the 243's.
Oh well. It’s a shame. Anyone who is pleased with the 1-10 would be just as pleased with the 1-8 but not the other way around.
If twisting the 243 faster is so taboo maybe they’ll add the 6mm creedmoor to the offerings and give it the 1-7.7” or whatever they normally are.

Exactly. Going to 243 1-8 would only help their sales. In fact, they could stand to update a few of their twist rates.
Some 6CM offerings would be even better.
I just ordered a superlight 243 and it shows a 8 twist.
Link please?
I'd buy one right now if you're right.
I have a Tikka T3x Lite in 6.5 Creed and I really like it. When I was looking for a 243, for hunting, a couple months ago Euro Optic had the 243 Tikka in stock but it was a 1-10 and I wanted something with a 1-8. I ended up buying a 6mm Creedmoor Ruger American Predator, with AICS mags, and couldn’t be more satisfied. Every bullet weight (90-105) I’ve tried shoots less than MOA out to 400 yards without working too hard.
Still wondering if Tikki changed the twist rate on their newer 243's and didn't inform Beretta ?????

On the Tikka website it shows 1-8”. You wouldn’t think Tikka would have their site wrong?
If they're truly 1:8 twist I'll be buying one.

Please let us know what shows up.

I will but unfortunately it’s about a year wait I was told by Stoeger since it’s a special order item here in Canada.
I did email my contact there and ask him to confirm twist rate.
Well heck we have to shoot them long target bullets out of our 243 rifles!
