Anyone acquired one recently? have put eyes on several with gorgeous walnut... wondering how they shoot...?

My last buy was one back in 2006 or so when they were using the goofy jlock... replaced it with aftermarket and like it a lot...
I just wonder what the price will be. Ruger Hawkeyes are going for 1100 these days. Jeez!
I’m also curious on this. Not a CDL but I got a quote for a new BDL in 308 for $1115 plus tax😳
And of course it was not available….
Many of the later Remington made 700s had huge thick recoil pads on them, CDLs included. They looked to be well over an inch.

They were quite hard to look at and would have been a deal breaker for me. I suppose rubber is cheaper than walnut.
I thought those recoil pads were a bit much.

ridiculous

Screw that get a Tikka for 800
Rem. quit the thick pads 2-3 years before they closed the doors. Hope Remarms doesn't bring them back.
I have a 257 Weatherby CDL, sub inch rifle, doesn’t have a thick pad
I bought an R model in 2506. That sucker one holes 117s. I looked at one in the gunshop last week in 300WM and it seems like they are better now. Hard to believe, but I like them. Recoil pad is what it is I guess.

A guy who sits on my board of directors has his FFL. As of two weeks ago, wholesale cost on a 243 Win, BDL is approximately $875.
In 2006, I paid $625 for an M700 CDL at the local gunshop... i ran the numbers on an inflation calculator and that is $930 today...

Inflation is the culprit, that and supply chain i think...
$1350 on this one.

Yeah those recoil pads look like dog chit!.....Hb
No recent ones. Got a 35 Whelen CDL in 2005 and a CDL 25-06 around 2009. The Whelen was an amazing shooting rifle with just about anything I ever shot through it. The 25-06 was a basket case. The CDL stock is nearly one of my favorites and that’s hard to say being a Model 70 guy!

Those CDL SF’s are some very nice looking rifles. Hope the new ones are excellent.
Does anyone know who is actually making them ans with what? I.e., did the new Rem Arms buy the old Remington's machinery and machinists? Or are they using their own people on the machines? We saw what happened with Marlin when they had brand new people making them (at old Remington). Curious if new Remington learned the lesson.
CDLs are my favorite of the 700s. I don’t own one but always liked them.
Love them Remingtons but at the prices they are asking it’s a better deal to buy seekins, Springfield and other 700 variants
