I forgot I had this one. Traded into it about 5 years ago. She’s in very nice shape. The old Belgian action, Hi Standard barrel and Timney trigger should help her shoot well.

My question is, the stock needs to have a top coat of something. Would you use Tung oil or boiled linseed oil?

Watco Danish oil. It's oil, solvent and some varnish. Looks like a linseed oil finish but it builds (and dries) faster.
I pulled the stock and rubbed in a coat of Howard’s Feed N Wax. I might leave it alone. She doesnt look as dry now.

Looks nice. Mine has reddish varnish on it.
I’m going to shoot the Higgins tomorrow. Im also taking the 59 FW 70 in 270 and the 722 in 257 Bob. 50’s gun day.

Mine did better with Greek surplus than it did with 168gr TTSX handloads, FWIW.
