I just bought a Weatherby Mark V stainless synthetic in 308. The stock is nothing special, just black plastic with what looks like a Weatherby branded Decelerator. The metal is a matte stainless. Caliber is 308. According to the serial number on Weatherbys website it was made 1996-1998. The serial is AS0020XX. What sub model of the Mark V is this? I've called the factory multiple times but the recording just says to call back later.

Does it have the 9 locking lugs? or 6?
Sounds like the basic "Synthetic Stainless", made from 1997-2004.

Nice gun Pictures would help. I doubt it has a decelerator on it and if it does it might have a B&C or HS precision stock.

Yep. There was a time when I would have stood on my head for one in 308.
It could be an Alaskan they produced those somewhere around that time.

Alaskan was nickel plated and made in Japan by HOwa

Intersect those two sets and we're down to a synthetic stainless made in 1997-1998.
Stainless synthetic like others have said. Made by Saco defense. Hard rubber OEM pad.

That’s math, right?
