Got a email from sportsman's whse today advertising guns for less than $500. So i started glancing over their entire portfolio of rifles < $500.

Though listed as out-of-stock, they apparently offered the model 70 extreme tungsten in 270 for $489.99.

It's specificatons include a muzzle break, creokote fluted barrel, B&C medalist stock.

Im wondering if any on this forum were able to take advantage of this offering when it was in stock.

It appears to be a sexier Portugal version of the SW exclusive i purchased in 2010 known as an Extreme Sporter for $650.
I see it was produced in a 26 inch 264. That could have saved me some trouble. Though the brake would have been removed and discarded. Plus they probably counted the brake in barrel length.

MSRP = $1759.99

That would have been one hell of a clearance price.
The tungsten models are not stainless under the cerakote, correct?

Barrel material and action are listed as "steel"

Was wondering if it was an incredible screw up by SW web staff, and a possible fix is simply post as "out of stock".
