Last night I took my Rem 700 LR 25-06 out for some range time. I had a new box of PPU 100gr PSP's to burn up, when I first opened them I noticed how long the bullets appeared to be seated out. Curiosity finally got the best of me and I compared them to the 100gr CoreLokt's I had on hand. I haven't seen this much difference in similar ammo type/weight before. I'm wondering if it is just the style/design differences between them or maybe this box was mis marked and these are actually a different weight round. I only had the one box of PPU to compare to but I have some more on the way to try and figure it out. Either way, my 700 liked them and shot them quite well.

I measured each round with a caliper and the PPU's came in at 3.198" OAL, the Corelokts ran 3.0185" OAL. - .1795" length difference.

Any other ideas or thoughts on this?

I think it’s bullet construction. I just compared 2 different factory 100 gr loads. The Remingtons ran right about 3.0312 while the TTSX loads ran 3.1875.
