Anyone use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean their guns with?

I have tried it on fishing reel parts with success, seems like it ought to work just fine on the hunting stuff.

I've used a smidge of dawn in the water. And acetone for really saltwater-crudded parts. But maybe guns are different (rust on non-coated metals, blueing, etc.)

Any alternative tips/lessons learned appreciated.

We had one at a range where I worked. Worked fine but it removed every trace of lube in a gun, so you had to relube completely.

I use one to clean the baffles out of my .22 suppressor. Use Purple Power cleaner in the water.

I've used them.

Mixed water with the concentrate solution and they clean incredibly well.

After pulling everything out of the bath and blowing dry with compressed air, I would soak the parts in kerosene to get any remaining moisture out

Then a thorough oiling.

Ultrasound gets into all the cracks and removes all the oil and debris......so if you don't dry and relubricate immediately, you're going to get bare metal rusting very quickly.

The kerosene helps mitigate that slightly, but it's not a final rust prevention.
