I think all of us, me included, and Larry included, can forget that just because we have decided what works best for us...isn't the be-all and end-all to the hunting world. An opinion based on experience, yes! But at the end of the day still just one man's opinion. If a guy wants to use a tricked out halibut rifle with a Leupold 6X42 and turrets, or a Stevens 200 with a Bushnell, he can have fun and bring home his game. 270 or 7-08, does it REALLY matter?

It's great to exchange ideas, but lately there's a lot of denigration in an attempt to defend our positions. And it was happening before Larry returned. The mood of the campfire is changing, and not for the better.

When we take ourselves so seriously, when we're so arrogant that we can't entertain another persons opinion and experience without flinging schit in their direction, we've already lost. Whether a person happens to be correct or not is completely beside the point, the expertise a person may have to share is missed or more likely dismissed because it's near impossible to see past the little boy, chest thumping garbage.

Nawwwwwww,I think the kids are well more than a touch comfy with their lifestyles,opportunities and Outdoors appreciations,mainly because they have to suffer the conversations of kids like your's,bemoaning their sheltered lives.

I dont think you want the 700 ti. I have'nt seen a picture posted yet where his rifles where not rusted.For all the knowledge TryMe has he has'nt mastered the most basic knowledge of taking care of his weapon.perhaps his arms are to short to punch the bore.Before I get flamed I have spent over 30 days in the Sierra Nevadas in January,30 days in Norway in Febuary, 90 days in Africa 9 months in Iraq,over 1 month in the Phillipines and time spent in the jungles of Okinawa.never have I been so ashamed of the condition of a rifle.But he does live in Alaska where basic rifle care doesnt work give me a break.He may have pretty decent knowledge of ballistics put clearly lacks in many other skills.
