Ill be getting a 338 win mag hear soon and i was thinking about getting it in the Tikka T3 stainless. I have shot the 338 win mag quite a few times from my buddies ruger M77 ss/syn and i have found that the recoil is VERY managable and it doesnt bother me at all when i shoot my buddies ruger. i was wondering if the recoil on the tikka will be alot different coming from the Tikka than my buddies Ruger because the Tikka is a lighter rifle.
A buddy of mine has the lite stainless synthetic. I have not shot it, but from what he has told me. It's fine. His wears a 3-9x40 Conquest with steel Leupold mounts.
Feeds, extracts, cycles & it shoots like a champ, with 210gr TSX's. Lite but not too light for a 338WM. Cheap with quality. BUY ONE!
I have had both the T3 Lite and the regular T3, I put limbsavers on both and both very manageable to shoot.
I have T3 Lite .338 Win Mag. I put limbsaver pad on and Leupold scope, 250 gr nosler partition and it is now my favorite rifle. Lite weight and great shooter. Recoil is not to bad.
Friend has one in .300WSM with the issued pad. It does come up without a two handed grip and comes back with authority. Good shooter. Had a bigger scope on it and he had to change rings to keep everything in place.
I have T3 Lite's in 35 Whelen, 7mm Rem Mag and 300 WSM I also went with limbsaver on all three. Now they feel more like my T3 .270 win.
