Are they rifles worth the price? I had the chance to
handle a couple of them today, nice and lite, but man
the price was high! Any input? Regards, Jericho.
I can build one with an Edge likely cheaper, just saying.
Same here, you can do a build of exactly what you want at less cost....
Resale value on the custom shop stuff and on a build is about the same...squat.

Gotta build what you want and roll with it...

Unless you could pick one up very cheap (deeply discounted) they are not worth the coin they ask. Not a whole lot of "custom" in a Custom Shop rifle either.
Look for a used one.

I got an early LH 700KS here on the Campfire for $700 shipped.
Had one in 350 Mag that was my go to gun for about 5 seasons then I had an old Ti built into a 358 Win and sent the KS down the road. I had the McMillan stocked version and it was still a tough sell and I only got $1200 for it in ex shape. My KS required extra care daily if you spent any time in the rain and that's the only bug I had to say about it. The new prices are just insane these days. You may be able to aquire a used one for a decent price or just build what you want instead.
Ditto the above. Build what you want - you get to know what's going into it, you get to specify how it's made and it'll still be cheaper.

Bought two Winchesters from their custom shop, a .30-06 and .375 H&H - LH stainless models. They are very nice rifles - McMillan stocks and after market cut rifled barrels, but I could have had either one built (theoretically) with more action work and better bedding for about $500 less than their price. Only reason I went with their custom shop was the near impossibility of finding a LH stainless Model 70, particularly one suitable for the .375 H&H.
I've wanted a M7 custom KS in 350 since the late 80s but couldn't justify the $$$. A month or so ago I picked up a used one for under $1000 which I could justify. I like it and so far have not scoped it to keep it light at 5 3/4 lbs.

I've shot 250RNs and 200 TSX from it and am just beginning to get acquainted with the rifle. Early impressions are all good. But I would never pay the Remington Custom Shop sticker price.

Custom Shop sounds good, but I like being able to build one exactly the way I want, down to the screws. Its hard to buy something factory anymore, unless its for collection purposes.

I hear ya, after you get a true full custom, well nothing is quite as good......your spoiled for life.

I could hunt with that 350 above, light powerhouse.
An M7KS in .35 Rem sold on GB for about $800 a month or
so ago, which one of you gunheads snagged it?

In my experience, no.
Just surfed GB and saw plenty of M7KS and MS for sale,
all high dollar though.
