Since I have this new .308 to play with I figure I might as well work on some different loads for the 155 grain bullets (Scenars and or Bergers to start with).

I already have a super accurate load worked out with the 155 A-Max and VVN140.

What are you all doing with 155 grain bullets and powders?
You've already got a fantastic load with VN-140 and 155 A-Maxes; I'd start around there.
I will but I am looking for an excuse to try something else.

C'Mon, get with the program and help a man justify powder and bullet purchases. grin

Take some Lapua brass, 155 scenar's, Varget(around 45grs), F210M primer's, Back them just off the lands and then call me in the morning......grin!
I have used H380, Varget, and W748 with good results.
Can't see how '15 would suck. Or, H414.

Yeah....

PICS, or it didn't happen!

And, we're gonna need to see proof that they actually work on critters, too.....

Yep, we need verification pictures on this load. grin
TAC, 4320, h4895, and 45 grns of FFF goex.

Just kidding on the BP.....but in a 308, most anything works!

Lapua brass, 210's, H-4895, moly 155 Scenars, square mark in the lands, 2930 FPS, and under 1/2 MOA.

Thanks aalf.
I've had good results with RL15 and 155 grain noslers Fed match primers. I don't have access to my notes right now so I can't say the exact charge weight.

Ernie
That 45 gr. load with Lapua brass is what I get using Federal brass. With Winchester brass, I've found 47 grs. works best. I've shot with Palma shooters who liked 48 grs., but that is too hot a load for me. E
47gr of Varget under the Berger 155.5 Fullbore is the only thing my rifle eats. That is also using Federal match brass and primers are good till at least 8 loads, never had Federal last longer than that regardless of the load. Pulling 2900fps from a 26" tube.
Has anyone ever used the Varget load in conjunction with R-P brass and the Fed 215 MM primer or CCI BR 2 primer?
