I know the Weatherby series 2 has a lot better trigger but IMO the weatherby series 1 is not hard to like. A lot of folks on other forums are acting like the Weatherby 1 is a POS. I just bought a new Weatherby series 1 stainless in 308 Win. and I could not be happier. Best $259 I ever spent.
The weatherby vanguard prior to this model was made of much better SS and that is fact. The trigger on the new one is much much better. It appears to be slightly different construction as well. It is still no Remington/Tikka/Sako trigger.
