Anybody own one of these? It has a different laminated stock than the model 85 grey wolf.
Wondering about other differences, how they shoot.
Looking at one for about $1200. Not sure it's a steal even though I think it's a reasonable price.

I have a .308 win in Sako 75 Grey Wolf, shoots 150gr & 165gr
federal TSX in sub moa. I have never hunted with it because
I always use my .280 rem Weatherby Ultra Light as my go to
gun and backed up by my .270wsm Sako 75 synthetic stainless.
both Sakos are sub moa the .308 is a tad heavy especially
after carrying the .280 for years. The .280 is accurate as
well although not sub moa and it spreads alittle after four
shots. I shoot Federal Accubonds in the .280 and .270 wsm.

There are a few forum posts (elsewhere) where people talk about problems ejecting fired brass. They describe ejected brass coming up, hitting the scope and dropping back into the action. This may have been more of an issue with the 85. Any thoughts?

$1200 would be NIB condition. Should be about $900 if used and in really good shape.

My 30-06 75 ejects perfectly with low rings. I've had a couple 85's that ejected into the scope and a couple that eject fine.

No ejection problems with my M75, ever. $850-$900 is about right depending on condition,but, they are not to be found in every gun shop either,if thats what you want. You will not be disappointed in the gun. Be aware they are not a lightweight.

Bought my .260Rem, unfired, in box w/ rings/bases (shown) for $1,000. Have since replaced the forward base w/ the correct one. Amazingly smooth action. No ejection problems. You'll like it.

I just gave 800 for one in 270...At the Gun show today. That came with a Leopold VX2 in mint condition. supposedly never fired.

LRW - The problem with getting a crazy deal on a Sako, is that it is just the tip of the iceberg.

Couple years ago, I found a Finnlight 30-06 for a great price. I did not know enough about Sakos at the time to know how good a deal,

Regardless, two other Finnlights later, I am still shopping for another great deal. Sounds like you found it.

I currently own 2 new in the box Sako 75 Grey Wolfs.

One is a 30-06 and the other is a 308 Win. I bought them many years ago, took them out of the box, wiped them down, and placed them in my gun safe.

Also, I have a Sako 75 stainless synthetic in 270 Win. that I have fired.

I have no idea if I'm going to keep them (the 75 Grey Wolfs) or sell them. The thought crossed my mind to sell them and to buy a couple of Remington 700s for custom project rifle builds.

I won a model 700 30-06 on gunbroker not 15 minutes ago, but hey, there's always room for more. Maybe we could work out a trade...you take my 700 for your build and I'd take your Sako and give you some extra cash.....

Wow...nice purchase! I had one in .270 Win and it was a tackdriver. It has a very nice trigger and those 75s were put together very well.

If your scope has tall windage turrets then yes. Same as the older M995 TGR-s

The thread was specific to M85 ejectiopn problems and seemed to be hit & miss. I have a 85 GW and have no ejection issues. Here's the thread

Love mine that I have (2). Only difference is in the stock and the m85 has the different mag release method. Personally I prefer the m75 stock.

No issues with ejecting with low Optilock rings/bases or the ringmount setups.

Have an 85 grey wolf in 338 fed that shoots great! Definitely worth it...especially if one gets a good deal!
