Picked up a Winchester M70 270 WSM as a back up elk rifle and to use for deer and antelope.
Looking for one bullet to use for all purposes.
Suggestions?
That is what I shoot in my Featherweight Model 70 in .270 WSM. You should get good results.
Have had good results with the 130 gr. Nosler E-tip.
That will certainly do it.

I shot a 10 point whitetail with a 140 Accubond at 285 yards with my 270 WSM and it turned him over on his back like I hit him with my truck. Great terminal performance and great accuracy out of my Weatherby.
That will certainly do it.
That's my choice, although it would be hard to go wrong with a 130gr. Partition.
129 LRX, 140 NAB, or 150 ABLR. About the best BC's your going find.
Nosler 140gr. Accubond is what I shoot out of my 270wsm. Very accurate and puts the hammer on everything I shot with it.
Just messed with some of those today. Hit 2,946 with 60.0 H4832SC and they look promising. Not a WSM though.
Another vote for the 140gr Accubonds. Great combo. Initially used factory WS then reloads in 2005. Used the 140gr AB;s on elk, moose, bears, deer, odd wolf/coyote shot at various distances, with great success of 1-shot double lung pass thru penetration.
Another choice for factory is the Winchester Supreme 150gr XP3's.
130gr TTSX would be next. I wish they made this in 140gr. I had the 140gr TSX's but with the performance at the range and on big game with the 140gr Accubonds, I traded all the TSX's I had for more AB's.
You wanna use it on elk? I use a 150 Northfork (or a 150 Partition in a pinch) in my .270 WSM. My powder charge is about 67-68 gr. of Retumbo. Haven't used it on an animal the size of an elk or moose but it worked fine on the last caribou I took. I find NF's to be slightly more accurate than a Partition and performs at least as good (I find it slightly better) than Partitions. They are more costly but for the few you shoot, so what? Load workup is easy & straight forward too.
My B.I.L. in Oregon is getting a party together for elk in. If we're drawn, I'm gonna take my Pre-64 .270 Win. loaded with 150 NF'S. Nuff said, I think. Good luck with whatever you choose.
Bear in Fairbanks
I have a nice load with 129 lrx's and reloader 17 but it is primarily a goat and deer rifle. I normally jump to 30 cal or better for anything larger.
I loaded 140 TSX in mine but the Elk didn't cooperate. It matches the trajectory of the 140 AB and and Interbond well enough so no sight change is needed.
I believe the 130 TTSX has a higher BC than the 140 so if I ever run out of 140s that's what I would look at. Throw in the 150 LRAB too as another option.
Which ever you pick as soon as you know it shoots in your rifle then stock up on them.
I run the 150 PT's and BT's out of my 270WSM. Very accurate loads with RL22 and both run just over 3100FPS without drama.
Picked up some 140 Accubonds at Sportsmans today and some 140 Hornady SSTs on here from another member to use on working up loads
