Just picked up a 300 Blackout in the new Ruger American. Had to web the stock grin [Linked Image]
You're going to have a collection of those soon! Nice paint job!
I made a run down to Whitaker's this past Thursday and had hopes of scoring one of these or a Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor. No joy.

I got nothing but time though. wink
By the way, congratulations!
What the Hell!

Why didn't you let me know you were in the store??
I had no idea you were standing around in there. Besides, I was drooling all over myself
I thought you saw my post a while back.....

Becky hired me to run the store about three months ago!

Walked into Sportsman's Warehouse in Salem on Saturday ....they had a ranch in 223 Rem. Told the guy behind the counter if they had one in a 300 BLK, I'd buy it. Clerk went in the back room and came back with the rifle grin
Slick man

Suffice to say, I missed the sheet out of that one.

I did learn that the shop will be getting Ruger American Predators chambered for 25-06 as a dealer exclusive on Black Friday. It would be neat to have one like that, but there is only so much fun money and I already have two Ruger Americans on my short list.
We have a few of those in the back....but waiting on bunches more. I'm planning lots of exclusives.

You want a PM when the 6.5's come in?
Yessir. I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Wish we had one here!!! We just have 3 LGS's and they are so SLOW to get anything new!
I told the owner of my favorite GS he ought to order at least 10 of them. At least 3 are allready pre-sold, including mine. Gotta get my suppressor on the way, for some major hog killin, at the Ranch.

You sure you're not from Southern Oregon?

Jerry
Nope, Texas.
How does it shoot?
Neat rifle. Probably quieter to operate than an AR, even with a can. Might have to consider one... smile

but how accurate is it "on average", the BO's are I think just not as accurate as a rule as the 5.56
My AR-15 S&W .300 Blackout shot just under 1" @ 100 yards with the Factory Hornady Ammo. I'm betting my new Ruger RAR will shoot at least that good, if I ever get it cry

I havent shot it....yet. I bought several boxes of factory ammo in Hornady and Remington to play with.
Anyone have a favorite sub-sonic load to share?
AA-9 works well for the subsonic loads. I looked it up on the Powder Mfg's websight.
Please let us know how your new Ruger shoots with the Factory Ammo, when you get a chance. My rifle is supposed to be in this week. My only decision is which scope to mount on mine. I'm thinking I'll probably go with the new Nikon 2X7 made for the .300 ACC / Blackout Cartridge. It allows you to be sighted in with both standard & subsonic loads. They only cost about $199 or less on sale.

10.9gr of 1680 under a 220 Matchking is well known as a good subsonic load. In 2 different AR's I found it was more accurate at the mag length of 2.24", rather than 2.08". It shot okay in a CMMG, and very well in a Daniel Defense.

One member reported the Lehigh Defense 194gr bullet worked well on game at subsonic speeds.

I just had some 240 Matchkings show up, and plan to try them as well.

I'm planning to try some loads with Lil'Gun in supersonic loads, with both 110gr TTSX, and 125gr Ballistic Tips.
Thanks for the lead on the scope and the load data........I need a 30 cal Supressor....recommendation on the can to buy and where. grin
as a rule I am not sure a 1-7 twisted 30 cal can shoot as good as a 1-10 or so twisted gun with the supersonics. I figured they were 2 MOA guns on average with the 110's and 125's at best. On average I figured the 5.56 guns were easily more accurate, but am willing to learn as I am not an expert and just going on the wisdom of the internet and my shooting of 1 300BO upper with Barnes 110 Vor-TX cartridges.

Also the 110 TTSX is designed to expand down to 2000FPS the 110 Vor-TX is designed to expand down to 1300 FPS. I know the 110 Vor-TX from a 9.5 inch pistol at 55 yards will shoot thru a 120 pound deer's front shoulders and exit with a 25 cent sized hole, compare that to a 3000FPS .25cal 100 grain TTSX on a similar sized deer at a similar range and while both kill the deer the .25cal effect seems to be more "immediate" both applied to the shoulders. However I like challenges and enjoy trying different guns and ammo to hunt with.

the difference your prolly seeing is just due to the velocity difference, the 25 cal going 50% again faster hitting a deers chest cavity is going to make a difference in "shock value".....as far as accuracy, if i ever get the 300BLK upper built for my AR when i start working again its likely not getting shot at the ranges the 5.56 is going to, to me its just intended to be a shorter range gun.....the 5.56 and if i get one 6.5 are meant to stretch their legs....2MOA out of a supersonic Blackout is more than good enough to me for the ranges it will be used given the point of it for me is the subsonic....but thats me YMMV
