Try the Hornady 87 gr BTHP with Win 760 . My 6mm Rem with Shilen Barrel will group under 1/2 inch with this combo .
I tend to agree. Although this won't be a go to gun, I would still liked to have been able to shoot the 100's. I'm going to play around with some 90's and see if it will shoot. If not then I will stick to the 80's
I'd try a 87gr Vmax and 85gr TSX as a fun combo.

Ain't much in .244" that can't be done with that combo, except extended long range.
I built my last 6mm Rem the one i have now with a Shilen SS 1&12 and didn't look back. I haven't been without a 6mm Remington since 1972. The 1&12 is my favorite twist in the 6mm Rem. Your 1&10 twist will do anything the 6 mm was designed to do. For Big Game hunting i prefer the 85 to 90 gr bullets in the 24's .
With a fast twist barrel a 6mm can do a lot more than it was designed to do.

so can a 6mmbr. but that 6mm is beautiful. i have a bunch of 10 twist 6mm and a 1-12 twist. the 10 twist will easily handle 100 grain btsp sierra and hornady and nosler partition. i used a 95 partition for 3 elk can't imagne a need for more. awesome. i "need " a 6mm that looks like that one.
I have a fast twist 6 mm Rem on a Rem LA... and yeah it does some cool things with that LA and fast twist...
but you've got a beautiful rifle....
I'd enjoy it for what it has, and not worry about what it doesn't have....
kinda always been my philosophy toward women also...
Thanks guys. Quite honestly this one was purchased based on aesthetics alone. I was also able to pick up a couple more customs in other various calibers so I will put them to use in the field and pull this one out of the safe on special occasions.
Cooper's Western Classic is one of my favorites. Good find!
It's not likely that the twist is causing your problem with the NPs. Millions of 10" .243s will shoot them just fine.
When I got my old Sako last year, I tried the NPs and Sierra PHs over some 4831 and wasn't happy with the result. Next try was with I4350 and things got a lot better.
You'll figger it out. Stunning rifle.
Joshm - your pics show just barely enough to really make me envious. ron
Joshm, nice rifle and one of my favorite cartridges. Have one very similar in 6.5 Swede. Not much of a pic but very close to your 6mm.
What sucks is Stoolhead.
You've a fine rifle, that will do everything you will ask it to do.
Even if you can't make Hondo's work, doubtful a few grains would change the outcome on game.
Beautiful rifle, and welcome to the fire.
85 grain Sierra hpbt isn't a bad place to start with some Imr 4350.
That is one sweet rig.

A 1-10" twist sucks. Please tell me all the wonders of a slow twist
You might give the 95 Berger Classic Hunter a try. I had a 10 twist 6mm that loved them.
I can't help it. I'm a fan of the 6mm. That Cooper is a Western Classic if I remember correctly and the case hardening along with the octagon barrel make it an absolute doll.
I've got an old 700 ADL in 6mm. Got no idea what the twist is, but it shoots well with 95's, and 100's. Haven't had a chance to try anything lighter in it, although I was talking with Bullshooter at the hog hunt this year, and I'll likely mess around with some 85 grain partitions at some point this year.
Congratulations on picking up a gorgeous rifle. If all goes well, you will hunt the wheels off of it, leave a mark here an there and kill a boatload of creatures with it. Then when you are old and gray and don't feel up to walking the hills again, you can pass it on to your son, or a friend who has shared a camp with you for many seasons.
