My cousin bought one and brought it to the house Friday to sight in and play with. He bought 140ab nosler trophy grade and 129ablr nosler trophy grade bullets to shoot through this hunting season with plans in loading for next year.
The gun would not group with either bullet so I thought the scope could be bad, I put another scope on it with no better result.
Has anybody else shot the browning in the 26 nosler and if so how did it shoot and what bullets did you shoot?
Thanks in adavnce

142ablr- in Nosler Trophy Grade should do fine. A local guy has one and has had great luck with that combo.

My Patriot likes the 129 ABLR from Nosler and groups well with that combo.
I tried a handload with the 123 scenar and it shoot about 1 1/4" but velocity was slow. About 3100, so maybe a little stiffer charge will continue to get better.
Any ideas on load data
Was at the LGS the other day and overheard two gentlemen discussing the 26 Nosler - specifically, guns chambered for it. One gentleman had had the Nosler Patriot in 26 Nosler and traded because he could not find a load (commercial load) it liked. So happens he traded into a Browning X-Bolt LR Hunter in 26 Nosler. Sounded to me that to this point he hadn't had any luck finding a load the Browning liked. On the other hand, the 2nd gentleman was professing his love for, and the accuracy of, his Christensen Arms Carbon Classic in 26 Nosler, regardless of what it was fed.

Now, in this case, whether one guy was trying to impress or BS the other I don't know. I would hope that for the money spent, the Christensen would shoot well - hopefully better than the Browning. The difference in cost should at least buy you that.

All that said, the OPs mention of grouping issues with the Browning X-Bolt 26 Nosler doesn't seem to be the first of its kind.

Interesting. Didn't know Browning chambered the X-bolt for this. I am a fan of the X-bolt and Browning in general, good value for what you pay (reasonable but not premium).

Have you tried something like IMR-7828? I am thinking anything that works well in something like a .257 Weatherby Mag might do well here.

My experience with Brownings is they tend to prefer bullets on the heavier side for the caliber. Had a 7MM Mag that shot so so with 140s and lower. Tried 154gr Hornady and all of a sudden, one ragged hole. YMMV
