Looking at one of each in 6.5 Creedmoor

Pros? Cons? About the same? I can pick up the Ruger for $600 as it is slightly used. About 22 rounds down the tube total

New Bergara is $699 locally

Thanks
Drum, Im not familiar with the Bergara so can't say, but a pard shoots the Predator in a 6.5 Creed and is liking it. Used it on some PDs with me out to 750.....
I talked with Huntsman22 yesterday and I know he loves his predator and says it's super accurate. Hell, for $600 it's hard to go wrong I guess but I've been really curious about the Bergara's
I've got a Hawkeye Predator in 6.5 CM and its a heck of rifle, functions fine and is very accurate. I'm quite happy with it.
I just bought a Bergara B 14 Hunter in 308. The rifle is finished well the synthetic stock is not flimsy and the trigger adjusted to just under 3 pounds. I've only had it to the range once tried 3 different bullets with Varget powder.

I feel incomplete. Guys here post target pics with either a coin or digital calipers.

I'll try to remember that grin.
Love my Hawkeye Predator Creedmoor in the limited use I have given it. $600 is a steal. Makes me wonder why the seller is selling it.
He won it at a function and didn't need it

I looked at those two plus the Kimber Hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor. Went with the Kimber. It shoots two inch groups at my 260 yard deer target with two different factory loads.

But I still would like a Ruger 77 Predator, the 22 inch barrel of the kimber only gets 2600 fps with the 142 ELDX,the Ruger has a 26 inch barrel which ought to get 2700 plus.

The good news is the 120 GMX Superformance gets over 3000 fps from my rifle and is just as accurate.

If you're going to use the 140-142 grain bullets,a longer barrel is helpful in the small case of the Creedmoor. Get the Ruger.
The Predator don't have a 26" barrel.
I'm getting about 2740 fps with factory 140 ELDM's out of the 24 inch barrel on my Hawkeye Predator.
I checked and your right. The catalogue shows the current model at 24 inches. I thought the early ones had a 26 but could just be mistaken.

Don't feel bad, nothing beats your scissor jack front rest. I shot a hole through the infamous and illusive dime the other day. It was with my Ruger m77 mkII .223 rem though. I'll post a pic of that if that would make you happy... whistle I've also been eyeballing the 6.5 creed predator....

you musta been thinking the varmint/target......
That's a heck of a deal on the Ruger, Drummond! That would be the one I'd go with.
Ruger Predator.

If you want to go 30mm on the scope, they'll trade your unused ones for 30s, a significant savings. Turn around time depends on their in-stock situation. The exchange on my 77/22 rings was about a month.
Hunts, the target/varmint has a 28" barrel. You are correct on the predator having a 24" barrel. Have one of each and they both shoot about the same as in very good. Velocity might be a little different..
28" huh? mebbe it was the sporter with the 26". Either way, I wouldn't buy either one, as they're too long to be handy on a usin' rifle.
