I've had a couple of these over time. A 308 tang safety version, and one of the special run Lipsey's stainless in 250-3000, I've regretted selling both of them.

Please excuse me if I am late to the party.

I may need to buy one of these. Seems to me like a perfect match; rifle and cartridge:

It is cruel to post that! At my age I shouldn't be tempted - but I am.

I've always thought that a FS 7X57 aka 275 Rigby would be great. Glad it doesn't have a 20" barrel which would make it even more desirable to me.
Very nice....But the No 1 like that with the 20" barrel trips my trigger a bit more. That one needs to be in 358.
I had one and it shot great. Sold it to Ray Atkinson.

I have one in 250 savage, it would d be a pretty sweet rig in 7x57 too.
Yep. Those are nice.

Back in about 1986 IIRC the year correctly at the NRA convention I commented to the Ruger rep that if they even made the RSI in .358, I'd be all over it like a duck on a June bug. The idiot literally went nuclear. You'd have though I'd just invite his mother to a gang bang or something. "F" bomb flew all over the place. Guess the rectal orifice didn't like the idea.

Over the years I've come into three RSI M77 rifles all in .308 Win. Two a nice and slim as that type should be but one has a stock a bit thicker than standard. I've come into a couple of M77s in .358 and I've thought about dropping one of the into the RSI stock (the fat one) as it looks like there's enough wood to make it work. Just have to rake in enough coin to be able to chain my gunsmith to his bench.

Hell! If I had the coin handy I'd snag one of those .275 Rigby's as well.

The current Lipseys #1A in 275 Rigby comes with a 24" bbl. and red pad.

It's perfect!

Just got this .275 Rigby in yesterday.
New old stock? I've got one in .250 salvage. Svelte handling and mediocre accuracy. Not much fun off a bench in any respect, but a lot of fun to carry and hunt with.

I don't think they are NOS. Lots of places selling them.

My 308RSI tanger was an MOA rifle.

Never shot the 250 Savage enough to know about the accuracy, but as best I recall it was like a 223 off the bench. Maybe the stock fits me better.

Huh, thought they were putting a matte finish on all the hawkeyes
Why did I have to open this thread? I have a gap in my arsenal between my 6.5's and my 30-06. I am a Ruger fan, the Rigby name is just cool, walnut and stainless are gorgeous together.
I put this thread up just for you Paul wink

Yeah, that's the way I see it too.

Plus, a 7x57 should ALWAYS have a long claw extractor bolt.

Full-stock carbines just look right to me.

But the purist in me will allow a little modernization too, and I happily accept the stainless steel.
Does this rifle shoot the rimmed brass?

Never mind. Dumb ?
No. The bolt-action doesn't.

No knowledge on the No. 1's.
If you had a rim cutout milled into the chamber face they would.

Thanks for the photos 'Cub. Where's the balance point as it sits?
Balance point is just forward of the trigger on the receiver. Very well balanced to carry. The comb is a bit high for the sights but it's perfect for scope use with #5 rings.
Excellent, thank you.
