A friend of mine gave me an old box of 200-grain Nosler Ballistic Tips to try in my 8400, they shot pretty well, well enough that I might want to try them for a deer hunt or two this year. I see that Nosler discontinued that particular bullet- is the Combined Technology Ballistic Tip the same bullet?

I believe it's the same, just with the lubalox (black) coating.

Same same. I've used them on pronghorn, deer, and cow elk. Wonderful bullet IMO.

They are good, used lots of them in 7 mags

I've shot elk and deer with them. It is not an elk bullet--too explosive. Performance on deer was great. I bet I've shot a dozen or more one whole groups--very inspiring for longer shots.
