I picked up a '84-'85 AV in 300WM at the gun show with the Sako fiberglass stock, were these stock made by them or someone else?

I think you have the one that was made by McMillan. Does it have a pronounced Monte Carlo and cheekpiece? Look at the McMillan "Hunter" and see if it looks like it. Yours should be black with no checkering.

No monte carlo, or checkering. It does have a cheekpieces and a grainy grip surface that is nice, the stock is black. Now time to call Talley and get rings and bases for a 30 mm.

You can’t beat Sako. I’ve had quite a few, they were all good shooters.

Love mine. I've had several, but this is my only one now. It'll stay (.25-06).
