Looking to get a new .270 Winchester.

Narrowed my choices down to the Rem 700 Mountain SS and the Sauer 101 Classic XT.

I've had dozens of 700's and there's nothing that's going to surprise me about the Remington. The Mountain rifle is the perfect size and weight for my needs.

The Sauer is intriguing. Never handled one, and will be ordering sight unseen.

Any tips about the Sauer ?

It’s a basic model. Don’t forget to check out the new Mauser m18 or m12 in similar price ranges. Reviews on all are very positive. I’m a bit concerned over a flimsy plastic stock. I’m eying the Sauer 100 6.5 prc target model.

Thanks,

That Mauser M18 is almost a twin to the Sauer 100.

And both are very accurate out to 1,000 yards and beyond. I posted a youtube video of some long distance shooting here on the fire. I'll have to go find where they are but will post them again if there is interest.

Thanks OSU,

I like the looks of the Mauser M18 ! The Remington's out, now it's between the Sauer and Mauser.
