And, what real advantage is that over a 8” twist 7-08 if you’re dialing a scope anyways?
I think I concluded there's not an "affordable to me" 8" RM available. Browning is getting closer, as I think one of their $2k rifles has it or 8.5"..... The 7RM keeps your velocity up further for proper bullet expansion. I would like a 8" 7-08 but not affording the Fieldcraft. Rem Nut or Savage is the cheapest route.

Ruger makes an American in 8.5” 7-08, but no 7 mags to be found.

Browning Long range models are 1/8 in 7mag.

Well done! It does appear they have changed them and clarified it! Thanks.

IMPORTANT TWIST RATE NOTE: In 2018 faster twist rates were added to select calibers and the twist rate is indicated on the barrel next to the caliber. The 6.5 Creedmoor and 26 Nosler became 1-7”. The 300 Win Mag, 7mm Rem Mag and 28 Nosler became 1-8”. Prior to 2018 the 6.5 Creedmoor and 26 Nosler were 1-8”; the 28 Nosler was 1-9”; the 7mm Rem Mag was 1-9.5” and the 300 Win Mag was 1-10”.

That’s pretty danged cool. Good on Browning!
I have been searching these and just finding old specs listed. But if I can locate the cheaper one at $650ish..... Wayyy cheaper than what it took to get me there last time.
Just go on Gunbroker and search the Browning item number . . . . 035390227

You will find several that show the newer 1:8 twist

I would still email them to confirm it, but I think it is unlikely Browning would change the twist without changing the item number (I know they changed it when they released a fast twist 22-250)

On a side note, why does Browning seem to be forward thinking, and Winchester so obtuse (like giving us 10-twist 280's)?
$681 shipped from Bud's via GB ....
That’s a pretty good deal for someone wanting a 7 twist 7 Rem Mag...

Go direct to Buds . . . . not through Gunbroker . . . . save $25 if you pay via money order.
