I would like to hear what other people think of these rifles.
Mine is a .308 and shoots very well. Its got the Nice walnut stock with decent modern checkering ,a hammer forged 20.5 inch barrel, user adjustable trigger, feeds from a detachable magazine, push feed short action. I have had more sub MOA groups the over MOA, for sure. The Price was good too at under 600.00. I just put the older VX2 3x9 leupold i had on it on my 7mm magnum , and switched this to the VX freedom 2X7, After 1 shoot i like the combination. I was out near the Oregon coast in the mountains, with my old Forest service jeep Cherokee. And Shot some Tiny clusters into a whitepaper back with a blue do sticker on it, 4 3 shot groups off the hood my jeep. 3 were under .75. the other just over an inch.
I was adjusting between groups and adjustments seemed right on, at 100 of my some what penguin like paces.
CZ does some strange things , while i like the 20.5 inch barrel fine , on a .308, that,s what they use on there 30,06 and .270s to !That to me is a mistake. I had a very accurate Husqvarna 270 once but its 20.5 inch tube was not to my liking. Funny thing is left handed versions of the 557 have 24 inch barrels ,
But in 308 or .243 The little CZ 557 is a handy accurate game killer. If they put a longer barrel on the 06 version i might well buy one !
Any body else have or shoot one ?one ? ...tj3006

Never even seen one, except in magazines. Appears to be a well-constructed push-feed at a decent price. The last review I saw, by Brian Pearce, was quite positive, so fret not. I would prefer the one with conventional bottom metal, but that's just me. Enjoy. CZ makes good stuff.
