I have a Dakota Arms 97 in 338 Win Mag. I had a Nightforce SHV mounted on it with Talley rings. I may be wrong, but it seems that Dakota Arms used Talleys almost exclusively. I can not find info on any other scope mounts that will work for the 97. I had to get an extended front base direct from Talley to fit the short tube of the Nightforce. T

Does anyone know is the rails that fit a Remington action will work on the 97? Are there other rails that might work? I am probably going to take the rifle down to a LGS this weekend to see if a rail will work, but any knowledge from here would be great.
Ken Farrell makes a rail for the 76 long and short actions. Should be the same spacing.
Bases for Dakota 76 need an inlet for the bolt stop, or else it will bind the bolt stop.
scoony, I believe Murphy Precision makes 0, 10, and 20 MOA one piece pic bases for the 97. Not cheap, but Cameron Murphy makes outstanding bases and rings you'll have forever.
Scoony,

The Talley Lightweights are not made for teh Dakota 97 because of the bolt release position.

I have the Talley steel rings/bases on one of mine. The base is milled to allow the bolt release to pivot.

Correct. That is what I have on my 97.
