Folks:

Do any of y'all have any idea which company makes synthetic stock with a very open grip? I'm looking for something along the lines of the grip that Dakota uses on their wood stocks.

Thanks

So, Parson, what've you looked at so far that falls short?

Nothing yet. I have big hands and long fingers and find some grips tend to cramp, especially the grip on my Featherweight. The grip on my Forster M1909 is very open and feels good. I'd like to duplicate something like that on a synthetic if possible.

I like the Bansner on my Howa pretty well. I don't like tight grips either.

McMillan Sporter......

My least favorite McM hunting rifle design because of the open, shallow radius, pistol grip geometry.

MPI makes a Dakota stock
McMillan Bridges pattern - hard to get more open!

McMillan's Compact/Edge pattern has a fairly open grip.
Most open stock that I have ever owned was a McMillan Mountaineer. Not sure that they are still available from McMillan. Might be a "used only" option...

Current production, most open/comfortable for me, is a second vote for the Echol's Legend. And, the Legends are cast appropriately for both left and right handed shooters.

Those look like the beans...

Shape, diameter, length etc, all figure in. Hard to really tell from pictures; gotta feel it.
I'm liking these. Manners eh6a's....

This. I've owned a couple and they're definitely open.

100% correct. Took a number of "tries" for me to figure out that my preference is an "open" wrist, with a vertical oval shape, approx. 1.25" wide by 1.45" tall. Don't like a vertical rectangle shape with rounded off corners. Don't like a mostly "round" shape. Likewise, a fore end that is a horizontal oval shape approx 1.50" to 1.60" wide in the middle of the checkering.

In addition to the Echol's Legend, I also managed to come up with a LH Pacific Research Rimrock stock. Love the grip shape and dimensions. Fore end is a little wider than desired, but tolerable given the excellent (for me) wrist.

Would really like to see a Left Hand Echols Shrike, and a Left Hand Manners UCS. But ain't holding my breath for either.
