Just simply want to know of a .323 bore can be rebored to .338
Thanks.
In other words, is there enough metal in a .323 to cut up to .338.?
I know that there is a minimum but just don't know if .015" is enough.
I think it is 2 calibers at a minimum
A quick call to JES will provide you with a solid answer to your question, plus any other questions you might have.
I know I had a 30-06 that I couldn't bring back to good by cleaning the bore. I asked about reboring to 8mm-06 and was told I would have to go at least 338-06. You couldn't just rebore one caliber higher. It had a pencil barrel and I really didn't want to remove that much metal.
Yes,,,,, sent my model 70 in a 325 wsm to jes he rebored it .338. So again yes it can be done
