I know this rifle is not readily available but there are a few on gunbroker. Does anyone here have a Tikka Battue Rifle? Was wondering what you think of the fiber optic sights and are they quick handling in tight quarters.

Spelling? I don't know. Maybe just ignorant of this model. Be Well. Rusty

The model is the T3 Battue (wood stock) or the T3 Battue Light (synthetic, adjustable stock).

A battue is when beaters flush the game past the shooters, so shots are often at running boars, etc.

They have great sights IMNSHO, and I like the way the T3 Battue Light balances too. Don't know about the standard T3 Battue, I don't recall handling one.

Tikka's always have good triggers.

I'd be surprised if you didn't like it.

I found a link to their 2019 catalog (but I doubt that all models & calibres are imported into the USA). LINK

A Tikka Battue Light in 9.3 x 62 weighs 6.2 lbs and is an awesome deer to bear to moose rifle! Your shoulder will, however, let you know when it goes off! eek blush

This is the internet. Spelling is apparently of no consequence...

Anyone on the forum ever held one? Shot one ? Own one?

I have handled the T3 Batue Light in a gun store, and I've shot one (in 9.3 x 62) at the range.

I loved the light weight and the balance!

The one I shot at the range had a GREAT trigger, very light and crisp.

I don't know if they put such excellent triggers on the ones they sell in the USA though-- they might be afraid of lawyers claiming accidental discharge when some fool shoots somebody. eek None of that nonsense here -- you shoot somebody, it is YOUR fault, period and the trigger weight is irrelevant. eek cry

How were those fiber optic sights?

I don't know -- both rifles had scopes on them.

My eyes won't let me use open sights like I used to, so I didn't pay any attention to them.

Sorry.

Ive been looking for a .308 here in the states for a while.

I’m on over 2 years!!

Theres a beautiful .300 Win Mag on GB currently. The grain in the stock has me itching to buy. I know i could duplicate any .308 loading as well. Just the action length is holding me back.
I'm sure touching off a full house magnum load in that 20" barrel would be "brisk" lol.

Nothing on GB under bautte

I’d go 30/06 or 308. 300wm would be painful in a 20inch

I have a 338WM with a 20" barrel and it's no problem.
