Not wanting to open a can of worms here but trying to decide on an all weather straight wall cartridge. Have a 45-70 and 444 but would like something to use in rain or snow. Was initially looking to buy a 444xlr but it's nearly impossible. Thinking a 450BM or maybe a 350 legend. Would like to be comfortable out to 300 yards. Not finding many rifles in-between the entry level(axis, RAR, etc) and something like a Christensen Mesa. Any advice or thoughts?

Go 450 bushmaster. Legend won’t run that kind of distance. Put together either a savage or Remington 700. Easy to do with the barrel nut system today I built and encore with a 26” MGM barrel. I’m running 250 bonded shockwaves at 2580 FPS 5 shots into one ragged hole at a 100 yards.

LOL....the legend loaded right, with the right bullet, WILL hold up fine to 300.....a357 max in an encore will, for sure.....with a whole lot less recoil.

How about an encore it no1 in 405 win with a 26-28" barrel?

If you're thinking 450BM you might give Randy's a call. They had Ruger make them up some Model 77s in stainless with walnut stocks. They also have the "Scout" version in stainless.
