I have a Blaser K95 that I want to replace the butt pad with a recoil pad. I've always used Pachmayr Decellerator pads and I fit them myself. My question is: Is there a pad out there that is better and still grinds/sands well when fitting? Thanks, RJ.

I like the Decelerators for rifle pads especially. In terms of pure recoil attenuation, it is tough to beat Kick Eez; I have and prefer the latter on my target shotguns. Both grind well.

Still like the Decelerator of all I’ve tried......

Decelerator’s are my favorite

I’m pretty fond of Pachmyar Decelerator. My wife is using the Pachmyar “Sporting Clays” model. The hard, slick plastic insert at the top of the pad helps prevent the pad from dragging on clothing when shouldering the rifle! memtb

Good advice here, especially about the Kick-Eez......... They do a good job of reducing recoil, and they work easily and look good once installed.

I believe LimbSavers absorb recoil more effectively but when cleaning your rifle be careful to keep fingers wet with copper solvent from touching the pads or they will become sticky.

I think they just break down over time. Had a couple do that. And I’m not big on cleaning guns.

Several rifles stuck to the carpet of my gun safe, damn near pulled the carpet out.

Haven’t had any trouble with the newer Air(maybe) models.

Thanks much for the input guys. I may try a Kick-Eez if I find a model and size that I like, otherwise, I will stick with Pac Decellerator. RJ
Decelerators on most of my rifles. Kick eez on every shotgun.

Kick eez come in flo. orange, red, pink etc..if you're an attention whore that wants a rifle that looks like an Easter egg.

stick with what you know, I bet a red one would look sharp on that rifle.
K95's are not a heavyweight rifle so I good pad will work. Decelerator or Kick Eeze would be my choice.

I had a Kimber 22 butt pad stick to the carpet, and looks melted where it stuck. Any suggestions what pad to go to that won't soften and stick?

The Decelerators definitely don't melt. I haven't had an issue with the three LimbSaver grind to fit that I have currently.

handwerk, I just found a 1" red Decellerator pad that I had taken off of another rifle about 5 years ago. It is just big enough to fit the K95 with just a little trimming of the pad. I'll post a pic after I get it on the rifle. RJ
OK, I installed the pad. Here's a couple of pics. Rifle weighs 6 pounds, 4.75 ounces as shown.

Nice work
Thanks Oldelkhunter.
How are the scope rings attached to the bases? It looks like pieces of sheet metal in the pics.
