This Mauser came home today. Cleaned the old oil off of it and mounted the scope in Burris Signature Zee rings. The scope is a M8 4x28mm with the original post & duplex reticle. I bought the scope off the classifieds. It's chambered for 270
. For $600 I can't complain.
No sir, can't complain at all!
Nice looking rifle.
20 years ago, 10/99, I bought the brother to your rifle, # 2159xx, and rebarreled it to 260. I swapped the DSTs for a Timney unit and replaced the bolt handle with an aftermarket unit from Brownells.
Looks good to me. Weight?
Looks good to me. Weight?
I have no idea. I don't have a scale.
Really like that. Caliber?
That's a very fine looking rifle. You did very well!
I have it’s clone, a Whitworth in 7x57. Mounted a VXIII 1.5-5x on it, and it has a permanent home here. You should have no trouble getting her to shoot. Really nice rifle!
Old70
I wouldnt mind a regular sporter Mark X in 7X57MM, but you dont see them much anymore. Zastava makes the M70 in that caliber, but the stock is more of a European design.
Nice looker. I got one in 243 but it says it wants to be a 358 Winchester when it grows up. As long as it is a short LOP and F/S it will be good. Maybe that 270 wants to be a medium bore when IT grows up! Be Well, Rustyzipper. …….PS Will have to look, I don't remember a DST setup.
Very cool! I’ll always be a blued steel/walnut stock guy. No matter how practical other materials are.
Gooch, I like classic rifles but I also have some stainless synthetic rigs for bad weather.
Same here. Wood/blue just catches my eye.
