I got this years ago, without knowing much about it. I just thought it was a beauty and bought it. Then, my father in law bought it from me and when he passed away, I got it back. Neither one of us fired it.

The bore looks as nice as the rest of the rifle. I've never really been sure which model this is. The action is smooth as butter, rotary mag, and I've been told that the rings and bases were made by a guy in PA, and they are very expensive. 1-4 Redfield tops it.

I wondering the model, and ballpark age of this fine rifle. I have $1700 in this rifle. Has it gone up, or down in value? Any gun info appreciated. Pix below.

Mannlicher Schoenauer Model 1956 made in '56 that was drilled & tapped(unfortunately) for S-K rings+bases.Nice condition though. Most likely the the least desirable of the stock comb variations on Schoenauer's.

+1

OP, the large concave cheek piece is a dead give away for the 1956 model.
As above.
Beautiful rifle!
Prices are all over the board. Mostly down around where I live.
I have the sister to yours in 257 Roberts and love it. I paid about what you have into that one, and I think it was too much. But I wanted it right then!
I typically see them priced depending on caliber and condition anywhere from $1200.00-$2500.00. What and if they actually sell for, who knows! Sorry, not much help!
Nice Rifle,

56MC.
The stock configuration is not what hurts it. It is the D/T.

$1700 is really top of the mark, and may be hard to get because of the D/T. Not D/T, and an appropriate G&H mount installed by Stoeger would get that price right now.

Still, it is a fine rifle. A great example of handcrafting and would make a nice deer stalking rifle.
Thanks so much for the info. It might be going in the classifieds soon. I don't need another safe queen. Been getting rid of those lately and acquiring stuff that is shoot more often.
