Got word my tax stamp got approved Feb 4th. They said it would be at my dealer sometime in the next 30 days, hence the question.......how long does it generally take for the transfer? Took about 10 months from check cashing date to get approved.

Congrats!

I put in paperwork for two cans last year. One in late July and the second 2 weeks later.

I got my stamp for the first one 14 weeks later and I am still waiting on the other one....

I have heard there is only one person that signs off Texas, OK and LA background apps.

Luck of the draw I suppose.

It should be at your Class III dealer's place now. Did you buy it from a local dealer or online?
Local dealer, through silencershop. The process was very simple, easier than I anticipated. I probably worded my original question poorly. I know the local dealer has the silencer in hand because I saw it a couple of months ago, but I'm wondering when i can take possession of it, as I'm unfamiliar with the exact process.
Oh, okay. that sounds much better. Your dealer will receive the stamp via mail and should call you immediately.
What do you want a silencer for JG. powdr
What silencer did you get JG?

Got your barrels threaded for it?
Congrats. 4 years ago my Omega and Spectre took about 10 months. My Griffin GP7 took 9 I got it in December. Once the dealer gets your paperwork back they should let you know and you go get it. Be sure to make copies of the form and keep the original in your safe. Always have a copy with the suppressor at all times anywhere it goes. Enjoy. It is very addictive.
Lucky you. I talked to a guy on Sunday that just bought two, but as a VA resident he might never get to use them after the paperwork clears.

Honestly, I would've held off on those purchases a bit.🤔
Well?
Still waiting for the LGS to receive the stamp. Should be any day now, hopefully.

Supposedly, suppressors are safe if you already own them before July 1 2020. But if HB961 passes, there will be no more sales, or transfers in Virginia, along with a bunch of other BS. We are really working on getting this bill killed in the Senate.

OK, good luck. Life changing is my take on the experience.

Best of luck. BS legislation
Dealer called me yesterday to say my tax stamp is in. Less than 4 months for a trust approval. Color me flabbergasted.

Wow, good for you. I've only one session with mine but I definitely see what the fuss was about. Love the darn thing.
I bought a SilencerCo Hybrid-46 last spring. Check cleared end of May 19. Approved on 10 Feb 20. Got the call from the LGS on 15 Feb 20 and picked it up. Already had a 22 can.

Super fun with a AR-9 and 147 grain subsonic ammo. Also using it on 2 AR-15s and a 308 bolt.
I got the call my Omega 300 stamp came in on Wednesday, giving it a little extra time to see if the stamp on my Sparrow comes in I bought the same day. 13 months and counting, guess buying during the last government shutdown slowed my paperwork down.
Congrats!

SIL just got his in hand. Looking forward to shooting with it.

I did paperwork for the first one in November 2018 and got the stamp in third week of October 2019. No doubt the shutdown affected timeline. I had paperwork for second one in at the beginning of November 2019 and got the call a couple days ago. Now is the time to get forms submitted. MAGA!
A word of warning about using a silencer. Once you start shooting with them you will not want to go back to shooting without them.

My wife says "They are just polite".

If I were a little further along in FPU, I'd order a .45 cal can to cover .338 and up calibers and a dedicated 5.56/223 can. I'll probably wait until the end of summer to get those. I figured a .30 cal and rimfire can would cover most of my needs right now.
