No shot and it was not legal to shoot anyway, but fun. 28 yards, just into the edge of what I could see that direction. I heard a small sound and found its tracks in snow when I checked. I only stayed 30 minutes and all indicators were that it was coming in when I got up to leave. Large track, heavy animal.

I should post a query about how to call at night, which I haven't done before other than playing with coyotes one night outside my house. Clueless here. I have a shotgun with a red dot sight and got a hankering to shoot a bobcat with it.
Check out the youtube videos on night hunting - type in Night Crew coyotes.... great videos and they spend a lot of time teaching you what works and what doesn't....
Cool!

From the spelling of your handle, I'm assuming B.C.?

Lived in B.C. for most of the past 40 years, moved back to the states recently.
Okanagan, why on God's earth would you do that!!!!!!

Grandkids! Love being near them, hanging out with them. I miss all that BC offered but am getting too old and stove up to take advantage of most of it. The trade of wild spaces for time with kids, grandkids and now two great grandsons is a great bargain. The rambunctious 17-22 year olds will come and retrieve a deer for me when I shoot one.
I trust I'll be hearing this story?!?!?!

(Although I'm "between" website editing programs after a computer crash... but I'll get it going soon!)

Thanks! Will check it out. I'm interested in bobcats, wondering if there is a best time of night, optimum set ups for a night stand, etc.
Yep, got a couple of tales for you.
Night hunting is changing fast, and can be unbelievably (at least to me) expensive. Spotlights are a thing of the past!
Okanagan Ok.. That makes sense... Enjoy!!!
