Got home from a trip the other day and the wife said the wind had blown one of the bird feeders down and broke the pexiglass in it. Could I fix it?
2 days later and another feeder was on the ground with broken pexiglass, but no wind that night..... yep coons (4 legged kind). So I put out some bread and shot one that night, figuring that was all there was. Wrong! Next night another, and last, bird feeder was taken out, so it's trapping time.

Got one night before last and one in a trap this morning. That makes 3, so far.

Peanut butter on bread makes great bait

A can of sardines with a half dozen holes punched in the lid to let the aroma out but preserves the bait inside. Wire it put to keep the coon from walking off with it. They will fiddle with that half the night trying to get to the sardines. A good light and a .22 LR or Magnum with hollowpoint and you're in the raccoon killing business.

i have a 6 foot high 6x6 wood post feeder near the house i have a fencer under the deck of the house with a fencer wire running to my bird feeder post with all the feeders on it and a movement light also have bare electric wire on insulators all over post and feeders birds are fine but all coons, opossum, deer and bears stay away now the fencer works great. also have old faithful 22 hornet and a flashlite.

Driveway alarm, spotlight and 3" # 2 shot. Let them get away from the feeder- # 2's hard on plexiglass...

My son uses the hole set trap. I forgot the brand. It is called the dog proof. He caught lots of coons where he used fish emulsion for fertilizer, his tomato plants were being dug up regularly. He added a live trap and caught other things as well. He even helped a neighbor's cat speed up leaving the county as he let it out of the live trap. With loud gunfire. He said it hit overdrive as the gun went off. Never saw cat tracks again. The dogproof traps were several to the package at Orchelns in Misery. Soon to be Tractor Supply. Be Well, RZ.

Those dog proof traps catch almost exclusively coons if you bait with little marshmallows. Cats don't go for marshmallow. Coons can't resist them.

never caught a coon in my live trap using marshmallows. Cat food and sardines caught more possums and skunks that coons. Corn and sweet feed caught more than anything else. Did catch a snapping turtle using sardines. He was so big that He had to get up sideways to get in. Fun getting him out too. miles

Marshmallows work great, especially when you squirt some strawberry syrup on them.

I use dog proofs.

Tried all kinds of bait.

Most success with Dollar store dry cat food.

The cheap stuff. Seaside melody flavor or something 🤪😂
