Nice! Those are some healthy groundhogs.
No ground shrinkage. Makes 'em easier to hit.

I think they fattened themselves up on my garden.

Slugflinger,
Nice shooting on a couple of fatties.
What caliber?
I've got a barrel I won in a TCA raffle for $5.00. Fred Smith former owner of Bullberry made it for himself, when he won the TCA competition TCA got it for the raffle. Boring accurate and I'd love to try it on groundhogs or coyotes. It's a 20"SS .22K Hornet.
Keep after the hogs.

Slugflinger: Great work on the Groundhogs!
And on the photography.
Shot a few Rock Chucks this spring. Never got a Groundhog (Wood Chuck) though. They are on my "bucket list" though.
Thanks for sharing.

P.S.: What caliber is your nifty Rifle?
Had the factory 23" 223 barrel on for this hunt. It likes the 55 grain Nosler BT's and IMR 8208. It'll put 5 in 3/4" @ 100 yds.

That's a heck of a deal for a Bullberry K Hornet barrel Soup! The only thing I've ever gotten in a raffle was less money in my pocket.

I do have a 24" EABCO barrel in the regular Hornet that shoots amazingly well.

Varmint guy, I've looked longingly at some rock chucks and prairie dogs while out visiting my son and his family in the Denver Co. area, and have them on my bucket list.

Some of my best memories are hunting woodchucks when I was young. Used everything from a .22 LR, 30-30, 20 ga to a 300 Win mag. Big game hunting to a young teenager.
Slugflinger: Get out and get after some of those Prairie Dogs down Colorado way - if you get in the right/remote dogtown you WILL be amazed at the reward of that experience.
I recommend next year - early/mid May.
Yes I have to get busy on my "bucket list" as well.
Just a few boxes left to check off.

Nice shooting!!! What part of WV grows hogs that size?
